About 10 years ago, my brother and I were tuning up to play some hymns for a church baptism on the bank of a small creek near our church. While tuning my year old Tacoma Chief C1C, my strap came loose from the button near the neck causing the guitar to begin its journey toward the rocky ground below.
Before it hit the ground, I grabbed it and pulled it against my side. As I did I felt my right elbow break through the solid cedar top of my treasured acoustic. I wept for it’s death. The guitar has been stored at my mother’s home as I still cannot bear to see my dear friend in that state.
