Years ago I had a beautiful white Les Paul guitar with gold hardware and a Bigsby. This guitar was heavy, but I loved it. Well, one day I was home relaxing in my bathrobe and playing the Les Paul when I got called away. I put the guitar on a stand next to me. When I got up to walk away the robe’s waist tie caught on the stand and pulled the Les Paul down face first. The guitar neck snapped in two. I was devastated and angry at myself…
I had the neck repaired, but it never felt the same. Months later I sold the guitar dirt cheap…. Today, I never use cheap stands and I haven’t put on a bathrobe since that day. Call me superstitious. 😉
