In the early 70’s it was common, and yet stupid, to put our guitars on stage in a stand. All sound checked and ready to go. Then just as we are going on, a roadie hooks the guitar cable. We watched in shock, and horror as a beautiful Cherry Sun Burst 1975 Les Paul Custom, slowly tips over and snaps the head stock off the guitar. It was the longest gig ever. All I could think about was my beautiful guitar ruined. Even though it was repaired. It was never the same.
