Space-Saving Double-Decker Guitar Shelves to Declutter Your Music Room

Do you have guitars and cases piling up in your home, music classroom, retail shop, or recording studio? Stacking them on the floor or leaning them against the wall creates clutter and makes it hard to grab the right instrument when you need it. This mess can also lead to accidents and makes it tougher to move around your space.

The Session-Pro Double-Stack Mobile Guitar & Case Shelf Racks by A&S Crafted Products fix these problems with a strong, well-built, mobile storage system. Proudly made in the USA, this double-decker rack helps musicians, collectors, studios, shops, and even music classrooms keep things neat and organized while using minimal floor space.

3 versions of guitar shelves

Discover why the Session-Pro Double-Stack is the top pick for moving and storing lots of guitars and cases:

✓ All-in-one Solution for All Your Guitars

This rack can handle most styles of electric and acoustic guitars, solid or hollow bodies, plus basses and banjos too.

✓ Choose the Shelf Setup That Works Best for You

Pick the configuration that matches your needs:

● CASES ONLY – Holds up to 20 cases with steel-reinforced rails for heavy loads. Two pick-shaped “bookends” keep cases standing tall and stable, and vinyl edging protects them from scrapes.

● GUITARS ONLY – Holds up to 18 guitars with special cradles that keep each one secure, even when rolling the rack.

● HYBRID – One shelf holds up to 10 cases, and the other fits up to 9 guitars.

✓ Smooth Mobility with Locking Wheels

Heavy-duty wheels make it simple to roll the rack wherever you need it, and locking brakes keep it steady once you’re set up.

✓ Nitrocellulose Safe Materials for Vintage Instruments

All Session-Pros are nitro safe guitar stands. Every instrument contact point is covered with non-reactive felt. Many cheap stands use rubber or other materials that can damage delicate vintage guitars. Ours never will.

FAQs

Q: How much space should I leave between the rack and the wall?

A: Plan to leave about 6–12 inches behind the rack to allow the cases to lean properly. This depends on the size and shape of each case and how you position them. For the guitar-only version, expect about 4–8 inches of clearance depending on the size of your guitars.

Q: How many cases can the rails hold?

A: Each case rail shelf can hold about 10 cases. You might squeeze in more, but for heavy electrics we don’t recommend overloading them to avoid bowing.

Q: How is this different from the Band Room Double-Stack™ Guitar Shelves?

A: The Session-Pro Double-Stack is made for studios, collectors, and anyone storing high-end or heavier solid-body guitars and cases. It includes extra support brackets and nitro-safe neck holders. The Band Room Double-Stack is better for schools and programs that store lighter guitars and cases.

Q: What shapes of guitars fit the un-cased guitar rails?

A: Most electrics and dreadnought acoustics with rounded bottoms will fit well. Guitars with sharp angles like Flying Vs, Firebirds, or Explorers won’t fit.

Q: What size guitars fit the guitar rails?

A: If you have a jumbo, resonator, Dobro, or other non-standard guitar, measure your instrument and compare with these limits:
– Max neck depth (fret-side to back): 1.25 inches
– Max body length: 42 inches
– Max body thickness: 5 inches

Q: Does the listed height include the wheels?

A: Yes — the listed height of 71.5 inches includes the wheels.

Q: What ceiling height do I need if cases are on the top shelf?

A: Here’s what we recommend for most cases:
– Dreadnought cases: at least 78–80 inches
– Rectangular cases: at least 86–88 inches
– Dreadnought bass cases: at least 86–88 inches
– Rectangular bass cases: at least 96–98 inches

If needed, removing the wheels gives you about 6 inches of extra clearance.

Q: What about ceiling height for guitars on the top shelf?

A: For guitars, plan for:
– Regular guitars: about 76–78 inches
– Regular basses: about 84–86 inches

Removing the wheels gives about 6 inches more room.

Q: What doorway size will this product fit through?

A: The rack fits through doorways 80 inches high and 33 inches wide. If you move it fully loaded, add about 6–8 inches to the width for the cases. The height is usually fine unless you have tall bass cases or rectangular cases on top — then you might need up to 86–88 inch clearance.

Q: Do you accept purchase orders?

A: Yes we do! Just reach out to us for details.

Q: How hard is the rack to assemble?

A: We include clear instructions and all the hardware you’ll need. It’s a semi-complex build, so having a second person to help makes it much easier.

Q: Will odd-shaped cases like Flying Vs, Firebirds, or Explorers fit?

A: Firebird and Explorer cases should fit fine. Flying V cases may fit if they have a straight side and bottom, but wedge-shaped ones might not sit right.

Q: Can I use the rack without the wheels?

A: Yes — the wheels are optional and handy if you need to move the rack, but you can use it without them.

Q: Does it hold rectangular cases?

A: Yes — both the case-only and hybrid setups work with rectangular cases.

Q: How does it keep rectangular cases upright?

A: It includes a pick-shaped bookend that keeps your cases standing tall and together.

Q: Will the shelves fit bass cases?

A: Rectangular bass cases can go on the top shelf but not on the bottom shelf.

Q: What materials is it made from?

A: It has black high-pressure laminate sides with a chrome-look trim and strong birch rails.

Q: In the hybrid version, can I place the guitar rails on either shelf?

A: Yes — you can choose to install the guitar cross-rails on the top or bottom, whichever works best for you.

Q: How do I place or remove guitars from the bottom shelf if it’s loaded?

A: To load, guide the neck into the slot and lower the body into the cradle. To unload, lift the body up first so the neck clears and pull it out.

Q: Can I buy extra rails to change configurations later?

A: Yes, you can. Contact us anytime if you’d like to switch to a different setup.
